Tassaduq Mufti visits Poonch to explore possibilities to develop tourism infrastructure | KNO

POONCH, FEBURARY 17 (KNO) : Minister for Tourism, Tassaduq Hussain Mufti today visited Poonch district to explore the possibilities to develop tourism infrastructure in the district. The Minister was accompanied by MLA Qamar Hussain and Shah Mohammad Tantray, DC Poonch, Director Tourism and other senior officers of the department. Minister said the Pir Panjal valley possesses immense potential for growth in tourism sector and that efforts are underway to give new dimensions to State’s tourism industry by placing J&K in the world map as one of the major tourist destinations.

He said the State Government has adopted a multipronged strategy to harness the tourism potential and position Jammu and Kashmir as the leading global destination adding that the idea is to make the tourism sector as the principle engine of the State’s economic growth.

The Minister visited Dak Walla Doga, Dera Ki Gali View Point, Noori Chamb Water fall and other tourist spots. He also visited Surankote and Mandi Louran and also inspected the trekking routes to devise a plan to promote adventure tourism in the state.(KNO)
